TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURE POWER CIRCUITS

OBSERVATION: No Voltage is obtained at the output of the Charger.
Disconnect the output load circuits and Switch ‘ON’ input Isolator.

Input Indicating Lamps are glowing?

a) Check for input supply failure. a) Check the lamp ballast resistance (R) and lamps, . a) Check AC contactors a) Check Thyristors / diode by measuring the Anode – Cathode
resistance
b) Check the possible
fault which could be
an earth fault or short
circuit in the Charger.
  b) If even after energizing the Contactor no output results then check the transformer
secondary voltage.
b) Check the electronic control circuit provided for automatic operations.
    c) If secondary voltage is O.K. then check the semiconductor protection fuses. c) Auto/Manual selector is selected in Manual Mode and potentiomete-rs are kept in minimum position. Adjust
potentiometers.

NOTE: It is very much desirable to have a ready stock of critical spares such as Thyristors, Diodes, HRC Fuses, Filter Capacitors, and Electronic Control Card etc. so as to replace the damaged components with minimum delay.
