| Eastern India Cosmetic Dermatology is the only representative voluntary organization of Doctors of Modern Scientific System of Medicine, which looks after the interest of doctors as well as the well being of the community at large. Eastern India Cosmetic Dermatology believes it is in a patient's best interest to select only qualified and experienced doctors when considering a cosmetic procedure. EICD members focus on providing Cosmetic Medicine so patients can rest assured they are being treated by an appropriately trained expert. It has been shown many times that improving one's appearance can improve self esteem considerably. EICD members know from experience what can be achieved through minimally invasive procedures. We aim to provide the public with up-to-date information about Cosmetic Medicine and help them locate qualified doctors who specialize in cosmetic procedures. Relevant training and experience are prerequisites for admission to the EICD. The procedures available to practitioners are burgeoning and new medical and scientific research appears with ever-increasing regularity. We provide our members with the most up-to-date, relevant information, and it is a condition of membership of the EICD that our doctors keep abreast of the latest medical and scientific advances. We also liaise with health and ethics authorities to help ensure that regulations and guidelines keep pace with new technology and procedures. We also oversee a code of conduct and a self-regulatory framework to which all EICD members must adhere. |

| EICD aims to bring science to concept of beauty. In this rapidly advancing field which is getting rapidly popular, it is necessary to keep a clear and rational perspective. In a field where gadgets and instruments are introduced and updated constantly, it is necessary for people to keep track of all that is happening ever so fast! We do just that! We are conversant with the drugs used, with the cosmetics used, the instruments and gadgets used and the procedures which are introduced and updated constantly. We also try and promote a healthy interaction with the cosmetic industry by teaching them and learning from them. A healthy synergy between cosmetic dermatology and cosmetic chemistry is our approach. By doing all of the above we impart quality and state of the art care to our patients/clients in meeting with their appearance enhancing needs. In doing this we have also unwittingly become guardians of our patients in protecting them and educating them against the ills of poorly equipped, unhygienic, unscientific/ pseudo-scientific beauty parlors, their equipment and their products. |
