A land of saints, sages and savants, India has always been blessed with advent of great souls and outstanding divine personages; Many a son of God has shared the pangs and joys of our mortal coils and has shed his immortal luster for the guidance and uplift of mankind.

Sree Sree Ramkrishna Paramahansa Deva was such a divine incarnation. The spiritual fire that was in Vivekananda and Abhedananda was lit up by the magic and magnetic touch of Paramhansa Deva. Ten others of his disciples contributed to the making of 'Twelve Sons' that shone around Sree Sree Ramkrishna Paramahansa Deva. To this illustrious lineage belongs Sree Thakur Satyananda Deva, the founder - head of all - inspirations, aspirations and activities of Sree Sree Ramkrishna Ashram. The magnetic spiritual splendour of Sree Thakur Satyananda Deva, founder preceptor of the other inspired a band of devotees of Sree Sree Ramklrishna to form the nucleus of the Ashram in the year 1939 which has now flowered into so many homes of religious, cultural and social services for the welfare of the suffering humanity.

THE ASHRAM AND ITS AIMS

To do all sorts of charitable activities for the benefit of all Indians.

To establish Schools, Colleges, Libraries, Dispensaries, MaternityHomes, Hospitals and other Charitable institutions in India.

To serve all Indians and help them in their ethical and moral advancement.

MATRIMANDIR ( MOTHER'S WING )

The necessity for opening   a Mothers" Section in the Ashram was keenly felt, when mother disciples of Sree Thakur Satyananda Deva related to some of the renunciatc members the Ashram urged to live the divine and spiritual life as shown by their renunciate relatives.

The idea accepted and so the mother competent souls were permitted to take up this sublime andaustere life of a renunciate as it was in the Vedic Ages.

Some aged Sanyasine mothers were given the charge of the younger ones who took up this life of renunciation and thus the ideas of Swami Vivekananka of accepting and training up mother folks as well, for the attainment of higher spiritual life, was for the first time translated into action in an Ashram under the banner of Ramkrishna Vivekananda. The number of such mother renunciates is not less than 15 at present.

2. Viswa Kahan Homa" which is a round the clock fire sacrifice ceremony that runs for five/ seven days in summer every year.


3.  a) Annual Durga Puja when Mother Durga is worshipped in the form of Sarada Maa which is unique both in nature and practice.


     b) Birth Anniversary of Sree Sree Thakur Satyananda Dev is observed every year with a rich fare of spiritual and cultural programmes where His         outstanding contribution in the spiritual and cultural fields for the all round welfare of thehumanity is held high.


     c) Birth Anniversaries of Sree Sree Ramkrishna Dev, Sree Sree Sarada Devi. Swami Vivekananda and Swami Abhedananda are also observed        annually        when Puja and various cultural programmes are arranged.
