Mallar started his journey of music at the age of five. Besides vocal training his profound interest lied in learning tabla, guitar and synthesizer.  He continued learning music along with academic education and in the mean time he got an opportunity to showcase his talent in a contemporary and modern musical programme titled “Dhitangdhitang bole” telecasted on Tara Music. He was only 14 years old back then but he got widespread applause and recognition for his performances. 

In the year 2005 Mallar got wide acceptance amongst audience for showcasing his musical talent in a Singing reality programme  on Zee bangla “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa”  where he made his mark amongst the top 10 performers. In the following year 2006 he became the champion in Zee bangla “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa –Tumina Ami“. He continued his journey and made his presence felt in the national arena and was amongst the top four contenders in “Amul Star Voice of India Season 2 “ programme  telecasted on Star Plus. In the mean time he earned respect and acceptance  for his  live performances in the national as well as international arena. He has been to places like Boston, Houstan, New Jersey, New York  – USA; Toronto - Canada; Italy, Dubai, Bangladesh and mesmerized audiences with his music. Mallar’s first music album “Mallar Aei Pratham” was released on Feb- 8-2012. He has been invited to Toronto – Canada to perform live on stage in 2013  and the musical journey hence continues…
