About Basirhat Community Welfare Society :

We, the Bashirhat Community and welfare society are a Nongovernmental Organization, have started our journey from 5th September 2011, with a team of few members from a corner of Bashirhat Town inspired by the thoughts, teachings, vision and mission of the legend monk-social reformer-master Swami Vivekananda. Our first destination was the poor people of Sandeshkhali Block-1, Sandeshkhali Block-2 and Haroa block where we have organized Health & Education Awareness programs. We also tried to fulfill the basic requirement of their food, shelter and clothing.

Our aim is to create all round social awareness among the people to make them understand that we are all do carry equal rights as any other person; there is no limit or boundary which can separate of minimize the rights and liberty of one man or woman from the other in a society because in India we all belong to one of the world’s most ancient civilization in the history of human creation.

We are already working on projects named ‘Livelihood’, ‘Women Empowerment’ and so on so forth. In 2011 we made more than 200 students employed at Salt Lake Sector V, Kolkata with the help of ‘Anudip Foundation’ (Social Welfare Society) and by their MAST-a program. We already planed that in this year we will be starting our work for 16 new projects based on bellow given factors & social requirements:

To increase the no. of computer centers

To involve the self help group (SHG) in the rural areas for increasing self employment amongst people
To build up schools for children
Donating clothes to the poor and the needy during the Pujas
To increase membership in club/committee
To conduct awareness program on Human Trafficking and abduction of Women and Children
Education awareness programs
Different programs on health and its care
Member collection
To establish a good rapport with more number of NGOs
To develop and improve our nursery
Free distribution of books amongst poor, needy but meritorious students
To conduct program to create awareness on Global Warming
To conduct awareness programs on Disaster management
To conduct blood donation camps
To build more libraries

In a nut shell it is not possible to conclude our social responsibilities, but we can define our basic duties in one word as “Born as human – thereby Enact as Such”.

Project Details :

LIVELIHOOD :

We Bashirhat Community and Welfare Society started our journey with a project named as “Livelihood” from 10th September 2011, which is related to those poor people or those children who are basically below poverty level or does not have so much family support. We found so many children who passed their Madhyamik Examination or Higher Secondary Examination and have no sufficient money or family support for further study. In this project we help those people by giving them computer training from our computer training centers which are situated in various places like Lokenath Computer training Center at Barasat, Vivekananda Computer training Center at Tetulia etc. We already started nine such training centers. After completion of their training we gave them jobs with a standard salary which help them to be act like big support to their family and to the whole society. Our main motto is to create a social awareness for this poor people who need us and who want to be like us and we done it successfully.

WOMEN EMPOWERMENT:

We Bashirhat Community and Welfare Society started our another successful project named “Women Empowerment” from December, 2011, which is related to those poor women who are basically below poverty level and have to work from home or from outside. We found that they felt shy to walk with other people in society. In this project we help those women by giving them training and encouragement to make many hand crafted things from home like……………... After completion of their work we sell those hand crafted things into the market by our members and some other organizations who sell those things to the international client. And after getting the amount we distribute them among the women, which help them to be self dependent and for that they can be a support to their family and to the whole society. Our main aim is to create a social awareness for this poor people and make a strong feeling that they also can walk with us because we are nothing just a human being just like them, and we are always be there who needs us. No matter how much difficult the plan is, we done it successfully.
