A well known popular Bengali Poet of the Sixties has made his mark in the field of Bengali Literature for his coinage of words and imaginary. His deep love for the people and nature has made him optimistic and this has lead him to move towards an affirmation on life and reality. He has been closely associated with the little Magazine movement of West Bengal.

Has published 18 Books of poems including Nirbachita Kabita (Selected best poems). For last 57 years he has been editing "Simanta Sahitya". a quarterly Magazine with efficiency.

Honour:

Received 'Chhandanir', 'Sabder Pujari' and 'Bridge in Making' awards in 1974 at the All Bengal Poets conference organized by 'Prabaha'. He has also received 'Ramendra Smriti' Falak', from Dr. K.V. Reddy, former Governor of West Bengal..Honoured by 'Rabindra Sadan Little Magazine Mela' in presence of Hon'ble chief Minister of West Bengal, Sri Buddhadeb Bhattacharya also honoured by uttarbanga Sanskriti Parishasd of Bangladesh in 1998. Also received 'Bhanubhakta' award in Nepal. Awarded special honour at Gangtok, Sikkim at Kabi Sanmelan organized by Department of Culture, Govt, of Sikkim at 2001. Also awarded special honour at Kabi sanmelan held at Coxbazar, Banglaesh.
