Dr. Soumya Bhattacharya being a vice president of Picnic Garden Lila seva society, an NGO organized a charitable activity on 23rd of December, 2012. The program comprised of the following activities:

1. 44 poor people gave blood for testing their blood group and primary screening of thalassaemia.
2. Distributed drawing materials amongst 50 poor children along with cakes and lozenges.
3. Distributed blankets amongst 35 old poor people.
4. Organized a cultural program in the evening comprising of Indian Music, Singing and recitation.
