"Ghazal Singer" Janiva Roy is a reputed, devoted, emotional actress and a very unique playback & Ghazal singer of the entertainment world. Though Janiva Roy is her showbiz name, her real name is Rumpa Roy. Born & brought up at Kolkata, West Bengal, she is very passionate about singing & music activities right from her childhood. Janiva spends all her time listening the unforgettable songs of the legendary melody queen Lata Mangeshkar. Janiva started singing at the age of 8 years under the guidance of her parents Shika and Bapi Roy, who are also well established singers of Kolkata

After completion of her high school and college education, Janiva involved herself seriously in the  world of singing and slowly was attracted towards Ghazal singing. She has performed several shows in Russia, Singapore, Bangkok, Dhaka, Mauritius, Dubai, Hong Kong and many other countries.

Her passion for singing has been purely expressive of romanticism of life, a venture that has created a parallel path which along with her professional inclination.  Janiva Roy has fresh (Khanakdaar) voice which is uniquely deferent. She chooses Sufi, romantic style of singing because she believes in normal living which has its own accidental moments.
