Srijan Sobha is a registered welfare society under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961. It started its journey in 2002 with little efforts like, organising blood donation, eye donation, health check up camps and imparting trainings on different handicrafts. But the idea to serve the society in a bigger way came thereafter and in 2006, Srijan Sobha approached a few pioneers working in the field of special need children. The choice fell on running a residential Home-cum-Creche-cum-Respite Centre for special need children/adults. At last the dream came true on the March 20, 2007. Now, the address of Srijan Sobha is Mission Bari, Mission Para, Thakdari, Kolkata – 700102.

Srijan Sobha believes that children having special needs require special attention and care. If they are handled properly, they can become the assets of the society instead of being burden on their families. Our Activity Programme has brought in light among the hearts of many such children. We strive to go a long way and we are confident to achieve the desired excellence.

Srijan Sobha is a Voluntary Organization, established on the 1st of July, 2002 and we are in the disability sector from March 2007.  We are working with Mentally Challenged children.  This is a Residential Training Centre.  We provide every facility and training ranging from the day to day activities like eating and going to the toilet to play-time, amusement training, vocational training and rehabilitation training and regular yogasana.  We also provide almost every type of activities in daily life, training and therapy.  And we only take 50 days off in a year.

For 315 days that they stay in our ‘Home’, we all try to provide a comforting and homely atmosphere. But the need of this ‘special’ people are so varied, as we do not have any age-limit, we have boys and girls like, Violent/Aggressive Behaviourals, Attention Deficit and Hyper Activity Disorders, Retarded with Obsessive Compulsivity or Retardation/autism with learning disability. From Mild to Profound, Autistic to Cerebral Palsy we are Home to all kinds of special personnel.

We have students from various different parts of our country. We have also, started a Day-Care facility alongside this venture that runs 6 days a week all year. |
