The word PRAMILA bears the name of Late Pramila Roychoudhuri, wife of Late Monomohan Roychoudhuri, a renowned philanthropist, educationist, mathematician and author. Late Monomohan Roychoudhuri founded and was instrumental, in establishing several schools, for the spread of education specially amongst girls, many of which have established as good Institutions.
This Institution was brought into existence in 1995 by formation of a trust body " Pramila Memorial Education Trust" by Ex- Headmistress, teachers, professors and persons entirely connected with education.
The school was founded in 1995 and it bears the name of Late Pramila Roychoudhuri, wife of Late Manomohan Roychoudhuri, a great teacher, mathematician, philanthropist was instrumental in spreading education, founded schools for girls and donated abundantly to many educational institutions. His worthy daughter-in-law Smt. Gouri Roychouduri, MA(Eng & Phil) B.T. an ex-renowned teacher and headmistress and educationist followed his footsteps and established this school for spread of proper English education, which is much of a necessity under present day environment.
