Baisali's formal dance training began at the age of 4 in four forms of Indian Classical Dances. She specialized in Manipuri initially under Khelendra Mukherjee and then under Priti Patel and Dr. Sruti Banerjee. In Manipur, Baisali has learnt under Padmasree Ojha Th. Babu Singh. She has also learnt Thang-ta (Martial Art of Manipur) under Rohini Chandra and Henry Meitei.
