No full Hedged Diabetes Centre was available in West Bengal to take care of diabetics since long. Diabetic patients usually headed to South India e specially Madras and Vellore for their treatment.
Keeping this in mind,, S K DIABETES RESEARCH AND EDUCATION CENTRE  was established by  Dr. Ghanshyam Goyal , Secretary Diabetic Foot Society of India, Prof P S Chatterjee, Ex Head Dept of Endocrine, Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases, Calcutta School of Tropical Medicine,  and Dr A K Jain, Consultant Diabetotogist at S.V.S.Marwari Hospital 118, R.R.Sarani Kolkata-9, in January 2006. for economic and better care of diabetes.
