Product
Range: We manufacture and supply extrusions for
various applications, such as Architectural, Road Transport
vehicles, Railways, Electrical and Electronic applications,
Consumer Durables, Defence applications, Irrigation etc.
The
group has an inventory of more than 3000 Dies for manufacture of
more than 1000 different profiles.
Production:
The group produced and sold approx. 6100MT of extrusions (value
Rs.626 million) in the year 1998-99.
Order
Execution: Once an order for a new profile
is accepted,it is executed as per the following procedures:

Receipt
of a Profile
Drawing from a customer.

Preparation
of Counter Drawing by the Tool Room, which is
-
forwarded
to the customer for his approval. If there are any
corrections, the Counter Drawing is modified and again sent to
customer for approval.

Receipt
of approved Counter Drawing from the customer.
-
Manufacture
of Die.
-
Sample
sent to the customer for approval, if specifically required.
-
Production
of material.
-
Shipment
/ Transportation.
Market
Network: We have market presence in India with our
sales offices at Bangalore, Calcutta, Chennai, Delhi, Kanpur and
Mumbai. We supply material through Trade and also directly to the
End-Users. The ratio of sales to Trade and End-Users is roughly
50:50.
Delivery
Schedule: For a new profile, our normal cycle of
order execution is as follows:

Die
Design: 2 working days after receipt of approved Counter
Drawing by the plant.

Manufacturing
of Die after customer approval: Within
4 weeks after the final clearance from marketing.

Submission
of sample: One week after the die is manufactured.
-
Production
of first lot : 2 weeks from the date of acceptance of the
sample and receipt of techno-commercially clear order from the
customer.
Note:
Delivery schedule sometimes becomes longer in case of complex
sections due to unexpected problems with dies. In such cases, new
dies are manufactured with the
highest priority. However, production of a new die takes a
minimum of 3 weeks. For fast moving sections, we keep multiple
dies and therefore, the chances of failure to supply such sections
are minimum.
