                  Ganadevi  Sevashram is a non-profit making apolitical, non-religious and a Government Registered Charitable Sevashram.

 ii)  The  Organisation Registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (F.C.R.A.)        1976 from Ministry of Home Affairs. Govt, of India.

 iii) Ganadevi  Sevashram is Registered of Income Tax Act under Section 80G & 12A of 2002. 
                     
                    • 3.                    Genesis: 
                    Our  Organisation Ganadevi Sevashram was founded a handful of dedicated civic minded doctors, service holders, teacher. Social workers who felt the need to come forward for the upliftment of the underprivileged and the disadvantage in adjoining areas of the North 24 Parganas of the District of West Bengal, India. 
                   
                  • 4. Background  of Organisation: 
                  Ganadevi Sevashram is a social centric community  development organisation at Hingalgunj Block, a part and parcel of the "Deltaie  Sundarbon Region" of North 24 Parganas District in West Bengal near in  Bangladesh. 
                                            The Purpose of GANADEVI  SEVASHRAM is to further Socio-economic development of the area. It wishes to  create new generation of self-reliant, confident and skilled persons. Its aim  is to change people’s attitude to concrete and integrated development through  collective action. Our experience is to that people usually wait for NGO's or  the Govt. to do the development for them. Our emphasis is that more effective  development involves the people themselves.

  ix)   Environment Awareness Camp.

                    • 6. Area Background: 
                      All community are situated in the  Islands inside of Sundarbaan impact Zone. "Sundarban Region" - has the largest' deltaic region in the world  which has been declared as a World Heritage Site". In spite of tremendous odds. The community venture out into the deep forest for sustaining their livelihood, even at times at the expense of their lives. These areas are culturally back word, education and wealth facilities are absent. The villagers depend on the exorcist and quack to recover from diseases. Salinity and water logging are the natural phenomenon of the area. The area is characterized by Monno cropped low yielding agricultural system women illiteracy and poverty are in acute stage. Mainly women and children are engaged in catching seedings of prawn fish from the river. 
                                                  Indian part of Sundarban region is now  being inhabited by more them 45 Lakhs of people out of which 60% are SC, 40%  are General, Minorities and other backward classes with only 5 - 10%  inhabitants are well-off and the rest are passing through abject poverty.  Directly or indirectly, more than 80% people here depend on Agriculture. Fish  Farming, Prawn Culture and on catching of Fishes from streams, rivers and sea.  The region is a mono cropped area as the agriculture activities here are  heavily dependent upon Monsoon and if, proper irrigation facilities arranged.  Then the Sundarban region could be transformed into a dual-cropped area. 
                    • Objectives: 
                    The main objective of the Institute is to- 
                    a) To promote, initiate and organize Information  & Communication Technology set-up and       "Suchana Kendra" in far-flung areas of  Sundarban impact Zone. 
                    b)  Self help and sustenance of women. 
                    c)  Rehabilitate the  handicapped through training and employment generation programme.  
                    d)
                     Create  opportunities for child sponsorship.  
                    e)  Improve health of  the Rural Poor area through establishing Hospital facilities Health Centers and       mobile Health Clinic.  
                    f)
                      Create employment  opportunities through vocational training programmes.  
                    g)  Create  social awareness through social welfare programmes, saving etc. 
                    h)  Re-construction of school  Building & Child Resource centre. 
                    i)   Improve the quality of life of the rural  poor and disadvantaged and the down trodden.  
                    j)   Remove  illiteracy through promotion of Nursery Child & Non-Formal 
     Education Centers for Adults and dropouts.  
k)  Providing safe drinking water by installation  of Tube well.

)  Rehabilitate aged in homes. 
m)  Promote Social-economic Development for Income Generating programmes in village level enterprise       like Poultry, Pisiculture Dairy, Goatery and Piggery, Vermin compost,  Honey Cultivation, Herbal      Cultivation, Mushroom Cultivation. 
n)  Planning the family through awareness of mothers  in family planning Techniques.  
o)  Environment preservation through afforestation  in Waste Lands. 
p) To promote initiate  and organize capacity building training in various disciplines for the rural      women folk. 
q)  To promote,  initiate and effect overall community empowerment with major emphasis on fisher  men      folk. 
r)  To run for  prevention of cruelty to animals of animals by providing, shelter, Medical facilities and      food human treatment etc.
