Anirban Ray is Sri Arun De’s pseudonym which he uses when it comes to writing. He was born on 28 November 1954 in Kolkata. He writes in Bangla. Apart from being a creative writer across genres, he has considerably contributed as a translator as well. His predilection for rhymes and essays is noted, but there are biographies, book of poetry, translated books, compiled and edited books also which are to his credit. Starting his professional career in the Asia publishing company, he worked in an educational institution for a period of time, and presently, he is working for the Sahitya Akademi. he is actively attached with many cultural and literary organizations. He is passionate about music, especially Rabindrasangeet and Classical, both Indian and Western.
