• B.A. Music Honours (Vocal) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata in 1975.
• M.A. Music (Vocal) from Rabindra Bharati University Kolkata in 1977.

Professional Experience :

As an Actress,
acted in feature films like:
'Parashuramer Kuthar', 'Shilpi', 'Chiroshokha He', 'Laaj', 'Dwitiyo Pakkho' etc.
My directors include National Awarded Directors Nabyendu Chatterjee and Manju Borah, Raja Sen, Ashok Bishwanathan, Ananya Chatterjee etc.
I acted in 'Muktijuddhe Adibashi', a Documentary Film. Bengali Soaps 'Maa Manasha', 'Mallika', 'Anya Ami', 'Teen Purush' & a Hindi Soap 'Krishnakali' directed by Amol Palekar.

As a Director,
directed a couple of Documentary Films "Heritage in Danger" (35 MM) (produced by Films Division) & "Living in Nature" and has made & Telefilms "Bhuturia-r Bhutera (The Ghosts of Bhuturia)", Thire Dekha (Looking Back)" and "Tutul".

As a Music Director,
directed background Music for several Dramas, Feature Films, Telefilms and Docu- features.
They are as follows: 'Glimpses of Bengal Terracotta' and 'Muktijuddhe Adibashi' — both documentary films directed by Mr. Nabyendu Chatterjee. 'Samakal', an award winning Drama by 'Aubekshan',
a Group Theatre. 'Aikyatan', an award winning Dance Drama based on National Integrity, staged by 'Geetobani' a School of Repute for teaching Rabindrasangeet only. 'Ke Go Antaro Tarashe' & 'Rabindra Chetanay Nari', Musical Dance Drama based on Rabindranath & his writings.
Couple of Docu-features 'Portrait of a Family' and 'Bishwabharati and Rabindranath' .

As an Associate Music Director,
I was involved in: 'Atmaja' — an internationally acclaimed and National Awarded Film directed by Mr. Nabyendu Chatterjee in the year 1991.
'Shilpi' - A National and International awarded film directed by Mr. Nabyendu Chatterjee in 1994.
'Sauda' — A Telefilm by Mr. Nabyendu Chatterjee in the year 1995.

As an Assistant Music Director,
I was involved in: 'Parashuramer Kuthar' — A National Awarded Film directed by Mr. Nabyendu Chatterjee in 1990.

As a Singer,
performing Rabindrasangeet for the last 30 years. Attended & performed at 'Banga Sanskriti Sammelan' held in Toronto, Canada in 1998.
Attended & performed at 'Bishwa Banga Sammelan' held in Kolkata, India in 2000. Performed at various Govt., and private functions.

Awards :

• Dinendra Nath Tagore Memorial Award for excellence in Rabindrasangeet from Rabindra Bharati University in 1975.
• Best Actress National Award from Hon'ble President of India for the Lead Role in the film 'Parashuramer Kuthar' in 1990.
• Best Supporting Actress Award from the BFJA (Bengal Film Journalists' Association) for my role in the film 'Shilpi' in 1995.
• Best Actress Award by Dishari - A Film Journalist Organization for the film 'Shilpi' in 1995.
• Best Production Award for 'Aikyatan' — a Dance Drama based on National Integrity received from Drama Academy India.
• Chitracharyya Pramathesh Barua Award — being a Personality Connoisseur of Art & Culture in 1999.

Called to be one of the members of The Jury Panel for The National Awards in the year 2000 and 2003.
Called to be one of the International Jury Members in the Dhaka Film Festival in 2001.
