Ashim Kr. Chakravorty was born in Jalpaiguri of North Bengal
on 18th July 1942. He is the son of late Jitendra Nath Chakravorty
(a retired Police Officer). His native village is Faridpur
(now in Bangladesh). By inspiration of his family members
he completed his M.A. (Triple) and B.Ed. Also he has completed
his Ph. D. Degree from Jadavpur University.
He had served at Thanakakhua Model High School since 1st March
1967 to June 1990 in the post of Assistance Teacher &
then from July 1990 to 2002 in the post of Headmaster.
He
has given voluntary service in Goaberia High School from 2003
to 2004. He has written regularly a number of articles in
different journals and papers like Nikkan, Ashabari, Purbita,
Ankit and others. He has given life membership award of “Nikhil
Bharat Sahitya Sammalan”. He has written school text
books like Madhyajuger Itibritya for class (VII), Sahitya
Path for class (VI) and others.

“Life in Ancient Bengal before the Rise of the Palas”
:
Best achievement of his life is “Life in Ancient Bengal
before the Rise of the Palas” which is submitted to Jadavpur
University for Ph. D. degree. It has been accepted by the experts
for which the Ph. D. degree has been conferred on him in 1998.
Beside political history, his works have discussed the socio religious
development and the gradual changes of the economic life of ancient
Bengal in details. The analytical account of the works will help
the advanced students to have a clear idea about the gradual development
and the draw backs of the people of ancient Bengal. |
