Amal
Kar is one of the leading Literary Personality of the
Modern Bengali Literature. He was born in Bangladesh, but had
grown up in Kolkata from his child-hood. He is the graduate on
Arts and Commerce from Calcutta University. Professionally he
is the Ex-Administrator of Calcutta State Transport Corporation.
He is the Ex- Trade union Leader as a deciple of “Marxism”.
He is the ex-player, sports-reporter, sports- organiser. He is
a Dramatist, Actor and Director. He is the famous literary organiser
and Programme Anchor. He is the General Secretary of “Paschim
Banga Little Magazine Samannyay Samity”. He is the founder-cum-convener
of many literary & cultural organizations. He is the member
of Editing Committee of many little magazines. He was the editor
of the magazine “Gabgubagub”. Presently he is the
regular editor-cum-publisher of the little magazine, “Jhoro
Haoaa”. Amal Kar has made his credential contribution as
a writer-cum-poet-cum-essayist-cum-editor etc. Now he is a renowned
personality in Bengali Literary arena.
His published books are 11 Nos. Poetry Books, 4 Nos. Story Books,
2Nos. Essay Books. His joint editoried books are 13 Nos. He had
achieved lots of awards and honours. Some of these are “Best
Drama Director”, “Best Programme Anchor” from
weekly Magazine, “Ispat” (Bangladesh), India- Bangladesh
Peace Honour from Bangladesh Sahitya Sanskriti Parishad, Dainik
Uttarbangla, Bangladesh Award, Ramananda Chattapadhyay Award (Mallabhum
Magazine) Khudiram Award (Adalat Magazine, Midnapore), Lal Bahadur
Shasti Award (Alo Abbhash Magazine), Baisakhi Udyam Award. He
has got the honours from Sucharcha, Kristimon, Debjan Magazine,
Jagweshwar Music Institution, Akhil Bharat Banga Sanskriti Magazine,
Sandhikal-o-Padakshep. He has gained the honourable medals of
