The
renowned literary personality, Dr. Sisir Kumar Maiti was born
on 31st July, 1943 at Charabagan of Shibpur, Howrah. He studied
upto his Honours Graduation in Dinabandhu College. Then he completed
his M.A. Degree on Bengali, History & Political Science from
Calcutta university. His B. Ed. degree from David Hare Training
College, his D.E.L.T degree from Institute of English. He achieved
the P.H.D.for research on “Samayik Patra -O-Rabindranath”.
After passing the L.L.B degree from Calcutta University, he becomes
the advocate. He completed the diploma in journalism. He studied
on Library Science .He was awarded the honour “Puranaratna”
from Bangiya Purana Parished. He had become the D. Lit Research
from Rabindra Bharati University on his contribution “Samanta
Tantrik Bhabna-O-Bangla Sahitya”. He started editing for
magazine from 1966 with the intimate guidance of poet Sunil Kumar
Chattapadhayay. The book “Prabandha Sanchaya” was
published on 22.09.68 by his inspiration. The book “Pancha
Sikha” was published on 11.10.69. After his retirement from
teaching career from 1964-2003, he is working as part time Lecturer
in Dinobandhu Collage, Shibpur and Lecturer on Bengali Honors
Department, in Netaji Subhas Open University. His literary creations
are well honored on naturally and internationally. In 1987 his
research papers was shown for a long time in London Book Fair.
He was selected as the “Man of the year” on 1997-98
from international bio-graphical Center, London. He achieved the
award “Sahitya Sree” on 1994 from Akhil Bharatiya
Vasha Sahitya Sammelon, Bhopal. He had got the award “Antaranga
Sikshak Samannay” in 2003. |
