Prof Rupesh Chakraborty was born on 1st August, 1942 in a zamindar family of Chittagong. After completing the college education he finished the course of Mokhtarship in 1959. He went to England tour with Mr. S.M. Bazlool Haque. the President of Krishek Samaj Party, Chittagong, the then East Pakistan.

From 1951 to 1961 he was working as a secretary to Sheikh Mujiber Rahman, (the then Prime Minister of Bangladesh) when he was working in Alpha General Insurance Co. Ramma, Dhaka as a General Manager during Martial Law. Me visited Japan during 1961 to look after the work of Kawasaki Steel Corp., Osaka, Japan as a Mason officer of M/S. S. M. Bazlool Haque & Co. He was the sole selling agent of "KAWASAKI".
