Rajat
Ganguly is an actor, who has been performing regularly
for over 25 years on stage and 10 years in Television. His
inclination to histrionics came from watching the Maestro.
Kamal Kumar Majumdar during his schooling in South Point.
Finally he came under the guidance of Sri Kumar Roy in BOHURUPEE.
His major break came in BOHURUPEE
production "MALINI"
a Tagore play, where he played the role of RAJA. Then after
acting as RAMNIDHI GUPTA (NIDHUBABU)
in KUMAR ROY'S classic "PIREETI
PARAM NIDHI", he did not have to look back. But
he believes that both these performances were not at all convincing
as compared to those in other plays like MR.
KAKATUA, KINUKAHAR, NABANNA, SHYAMA, SINDUK and many
others.
He
firmly believes that "SOUTH POINT
SCHOOL" and "BOHURUPEE"
are the two institutions that have contributed generously
to his growing up as a sensitive, rational and responsible
human being.
He
has also acted in important roles in popular Television serials
and Telefilms under eminent directors like JISHU
DASGUPTA, ABHIJIT DASGUPTA, ATANU GHOSH, KOUSHIK GANGULY,
DEBANGSHU SENGUPTA, ANJAN CHOUDHURY, SOUMIK CHATTERJEE
and others.
Presently
he is directing a play, based on the story "HRIDAYER
SHOBDO" by AVRO ROY.
The story deals with the lives of Indian Airforce People.
He
firmly declares that this play will be a tribute to his teachers.
