Sree Shankarnath Saha was born in a musically endowed family and a glorious son of Late Bholanath Saha, a distinguised Dilruba exponent of yester year of All India Radio, Kolkata. He was trained from his father at the begining & later was under Pandit Indranil Bhattacharya and became able to absorb 'myhar' Gharana in a distinct realistic way.

He is a graded staff artist of All India Radio, Kolkata, for more than two decades. He has Audio Video Cassettes & CDs on Dilruba / sitar where Pandit Kumar Bose & Pandit Aninda Chatterjee accompanied him on Tabla. Needless to mention that his recital on Sitar would be applauded everywhere.

Over the years, he has created a distinct realistic instrumental music and has evolved a style of his own on Esraj. He is a graded staff artist of All India Radio, Kolkata, and he has Audio Video Cassettes & Cds. He has participated in several festivals in India & abroad. The future of his performance on Dilruba is still bright.
