Mitali Sengupta is a classical vocalist with a tremendous force in her voice.

Mitali , born in 1952 in Calcutta, got her initial lessons of Indian Classical Music from her renowned Father Shri Nutu Mukherjee, who was a famous vocalist of Bengal and senior most disciple of Late Ustad Girija Shankar Chakraborty.

Mitali started her music career as a child artist of 'Shishumahal & Galpadadur Ashar' in A.I.R. Calcutta . Afterwards, she got her 'Sangeet Visharad' Degree from the University of Chandigarh. Now she is a regular artist of All India Radio, and Doordarshan Kendra of Calcutta.

Mitali is a beloved disciple of 'Padmabhusan' Smt. Girija Devi, Mitali has taken 'Ganda' (the Sacred Thread) from her Guru of International repute and is continuing her talim in the well-known "Benaras Gharana" Mitali is equally competent in performing 'Khayal', Thumri', 'Tappa', 'Dadra', 'Kajri', 'Holi', Bhajan', etc.

Mitali has performed in many prestigious conferences time and again in Calcutta and outside Calcutta . Mitali was honoured with the title 'Suromoni' in Haridas Conference, Bombay, in 1989.

A light Classical Cassette The 'PASSION OF BENARAS' has been published from a music company (BIHAANMUSIC) (9830619956) of Calcutta, in 2004 Mitali is now working as a Gazetted Officer in an office of Govt, of India, under Ministry of Health.
