Binata
Roy Chowdhury was born in Kolkata. She started her academic career from Bethun
School and graduated from Presidency College and got a PhD. from Calcutta
University. She came into the world of writing a little late (in 1982) ofcourse, but
instantaneously made an impression in the mind of her readers.
Her
atease style of writing and lucid language easliy won the hearts of her readers.
Her first story "POKETMAR" was published in "DAINIK BASUMATI".
She is having regular publication in Anada Bazar Patrika, Bartaman, Pratidin,
Desh, Anandamela & Korak. Her brilliance was recognised in 1997 when she got
in "SADHANA BHATTACHARYA SMRITI GABESHAK SANMANA" for her most
coveted work "PANCHASHER MAMANTAR O BANGLA SAHITYA" given by Kolkata
Little Magazine Library "O" Gabeshana Kendra. This provided the Song
overdue appraisal of her creative writing and did full justice to the dignity,
power and sense of harmony of this great personality.
She
maintains a good balance between her profession (Reader in Bengali Dept. in
Bijay Krishna Girl's College and the Head Examiner of CU), family and
writing.
