Monarch
Electronics (India) is experienced in manufacturing
SAIL PHOS for last decade in addition to manufacturing
of other electronic apparatus, control panel and microprocessor
based systems since 1981.
The Technology transfer contract for SAIL PHOS - V
(H. M.D.) between SAIL RDCIS and Monarch Electronics
(India), Kolkata - 75 entrust Monarch to manufacture
and to market the SAIL PHOS - V / HMD the system have
been installed in SAIL and non-SAIL Steel Plants and
Rolling Mills at different parts of India and abroad,
for sensing the Bloom, Billets, Wire, Rod, Section,
Rail, Plate etc.
PRODUCT BACK GROUND: Photosensors
are useful in detecting the presence of luminious
as well as non-luminious object in ferrous / non-ferrous
Industries. It has cost, high degree of reliability
and compact size, incorporating unique feature, SAIL
PHOS sensore have proved their supremacy in Steel
Industries, over conventional photosensors used in
Steel Industries.
SAIL PHOS - V (H.M.D.) : It comprises
of Input sensing unit and output unit.
Input Sensing Unit: Sensitive to
visible and higher infrared Radiation (or ther light
sources above 800oC)
Output Unit: (i) Relay potential
free isolated contacts - 12 Volt DC, 2N.O. And 2N.C.
(ii) Open collector (iii) Transistor. (iv) Opto coupler
I.C. (v) Visual Indicator (vi) Buzzer (vii) Counter
4 display on demand (optional).
OUTPUT LOGIC: Can be changed by switch,
from one state to another. (i) Dark to light, (ii)
Light to Dark.
RESPONSE : (i) <2ml-sec. for Relay
(ii) <0.3ml-sec. for transistor (iii) <0.3ml-sec.
for Opto coupler.
The sensor is able to distinguish two successive metals
which roll at a Rolling speed of <15mtr / sec.
with a narrow spacing of 10mtr, distance between tail
and tip of two rods.
ENVIRONMENT: Sensors are designed to operate
in Steel Plant environment and able to resist high
degree of vibrations and withstand at following temperature
ranges. (i) Upto 800oC without any protection
(ii) Upto 100oc with special insulating protection
cover(iii) >100oc with water / air cooling jacket
available on demand max upto 200oc.
DETAILS: Sensor is comprised of two
units. (i) Signal processing Unit-Dimesnsion 120mm
(L) X 70mm (W) x 60mm(H) & Height from platform
150mm (ii) Power supply unit-Dimension 240mm (L) X
X 165mm (W) X105 (Recomended distance between two
units, should be 1 mtr to Max <200 MTR)
MOUNTING : Sensing Unit has reliable
mounting arrangement of 360o horizontal and 120o vertical,
thus providing universal targeting of object. A target
viewer is also provided. Single, Dual, multiple sensing
units can also be provided.
Remote Test: Facilitate quick check
about the health of sensing unit, signal processing
unit and cable system.

CUTTING: Encoder (Length) based
or Time Based System; With the help of "MONARCH"
Microprocessor Based Auto control system, while
sensing the Hot object by SAIL PHOS-V (H.M.D.).
The Auto control systerm can achieve:
(i) Fully automatic cutting of Hot metal on Rolling
Mill, with an accuracy with encoder based = +
4" & with time based = +
10"
approx. for any Mill Speed an upto 12 nos of each
cut length, more than 80ft length. 3 rows digital
display, reovides the number of CUTS, BILLETS AND
RANDOMS.
(ii) For quick setting of any LENGTH combination
of cut length Appropriate required location can
be instantly & Individualy selection for 15
combinations of setting length on line instant setting
on demand.
(iii) For T.M.T. Plant Auto
by-pass of last lap (random
upto 25ft) through the T.M.T. Box. While T.M.T.
Auto by-pass saves Break-Down Time of the Plant.
(Approx 11/2 hour per shift).
(iv) "W" channel Changing to opposite
side, on every new entry of meterial on "W"
channel this ensures smooth functioning of cutting
and clearing "W" Channel
(V) The system can provide micro Computer based
Digital Data Logging & Data Recording on L.C.D
Screen. Alos print out on your printer can obtained
OPTIONAL.
(vi) Encoder (Length) Based special Auto cut; Double
Processor (Stand by) System can be Provided for
Urgent need of other Encoder Channel on Demand (Ofsonal).
Ultimately our Auto system is a guaranted COST
AND SCRAPSAVER upto 3% for any Mill.
