DEBARATI
SHOME – a leading name in the field of singing. She has
started her carrier of singing at very early stage of her
life and had performed in various stage shows within Kolkata
and outside of Kolkata like New Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Mumbai,
Chennai, Allahabad, Lucknow, Patna, Ranchi, Jamshedpur,
etc. She is representing the twenty first century
of singers. DEBARATI
SHOME, the legendary singer has been bestowed with
prestigious awards by the global institutions for her outstanding
performance and contribution to the arena of music.
Her
academics in music is quite sound. She has stood 1st Class 1st in MA for
Rabindra Sangeet in the year 1985 from Rabindra Bharti University. She had got Ph.D. degree in
Rabindra Sangeet in 1997 under guidance of Ex-Professor Smt. Maya Sen (Subject:
Bhanga Gaane Rabindranather Swakiyata). She got Gita Bharati Degree from
Gitabitan in 1981. She took lessons of Rabindra Sangeet from Sri Prafulla Kr.
Das, Smt. Maya Sen, Sri Subhas Chowdhury, etc. She also took lessons of
Classical music from Smt. Kamla Das, and Sri Mallar Basu.
She
is B. High Artiste of Radio since 1984 in Rabindra Sangeet. She went to Dhaka
for a musical tour in 1992 and participated there in different programmes.

Her
name is reckoned as one of the most perfectionists related
to Rabindra Sangeet Singing. She has attained a very high
value qualities in Rabindra Sangeet Singing through the
process of many years. Besides Tagore Songs, she also sings
modern songs at present.
