This
is a Gujrati folk dance, usually done to celebrate the onset of Durga to
earth till her return to heavenly abode which last for nine days, and
this is known as NAVARATRI. This
is dance of Sticks
& Steps in which males and females group together. Today
its popularity has grown to such an extend that it is celebrated by many
societies in India. Even in marriages it does take place ad dung
enjoyment to the occasion. In Bengal The Gujarati and Rajasthani
societies adheres to it.
This
year Lakeland Country Club is presenting "THE DANDIA BLITZ"
