LEPROSY

It is a chronic, curable infectious disease. It affects the skin, eyes, nose and peripheral nerves. Symptoms include gross deformities, light coloured or red skin patches with reduced sensation, numbness and weakness in hands and feet. It can last for years or be lifelong. It undoubtedly requires a medical diagnosis. If we revert the clock back, we shall find that there was a severe stigma attached to Leprosy. Patients became victims of eviction and were thrown out of their homes. The data based records passes the statement that if previously one among 1900 patients were detected. The recent status quo is where 1 or even less than 1 amongst 10 thousand patients are detected. The given picture symbolises hope.

GRECALTES firmly believe that the sun shall shine brighter on the day when leprosy shall be totally eradicated like Polio and we are tirelessly working to achieve the goal.
