In the changing social milieu, the need for alternative living arrangements for mentally ill away from their immediate family as a process of training, therapy, psycho-social rehabilitation is being increasingly recognised. Considering the need for providing a home away from home for the mentally handicapped persons, CHWA has started residential care centre in Panihati, 24 Parganas (N.) Dishari provides short and long term residential training, therapeutic and psychosocial rehabilitation.
Residential care unit of Panihati 24 Parganas (N) is away from dust and din of the metropolis, it provides therapeutic care to inmates under guidance of Dr. Amarnath Mallik, Mr. Bibek B.Roy, Dr. Apurba Kumar Roy and other doctors and paramedical persons take care of the patient. The unit of CHWA is run by donations and deposits from benevolent members of the society and guardaians of the inmates. Donations may be sent by cheque in favour of "City Health & Welfare Association".
