He was born on 14th January 1949 in Howrah, West Bengal. After qualifying his technical education  from B.E.College Shibpore he was also successful when he later appeared for an advanced technical education. He later joined a Shipbuilding company under government of India as an officer. The inner urge for poetic impression he could no longer resist and this culminated in fifteen publications.

His range of  interests include Literature, Elocution, Radioplay, Travelling and even painting from time to time. At the yound age he was 1st class cricket player. Poems and short stories and novels have been regularly written and even plays written by him have been broadcasted on the radio. Many of Rabindra Nath Tagores short stories have been given a dramatic play version Which was condensed in two volumes.The magazine which is edited by him is “Kakolikatha”. Akhil Bharotiyo Bhasha Parishad has duly given him recognition by conferring the title of "Sahityashree". His literary contributions has also been  duly recognized by literary organizations such as Abhijatri, Sarathi Sayantan and others.

He is dead against superstitions and considers them to be Society’s greatest evil and God being the most joyful creation of human beings.
