From the President’s Desk

Dear Guest,
A warm welcome to all. As Srishtipath steps into its 6th year, we once again ascertain our commitment to embellish our rich culture and to extend a helping hand to those in need. Srishtipath started as an idea shared by a few likeminded people. Over the years, with the help of numerous well wishers and through the hard work of its members, Srishtipath has come to be a leading social and cultural organisation. What drives us is the empathy we feel towards those who are not as blessed as us. “ We have been created for greater things, to love and to be loved “. These words from Mother Teresa inspire us to share our feelings of affection and kindness with the underprivileged.

From celebrating the great Rabindranath Tagore to remembering Shree Utpalendu Chowdhury, from enacting Oscar Wilde to learning from the eminent thespian Shree Manoj Mitra, from swooning to old melodies to dancing to modern peppy tunes, Srishtipath has regaled one and all.

It is said, ‘A Society is as weak as its weakest link’. Keeping this in mind, Srishtipath provides books, clothing, and blankets to the underprivileged children of Nirmala Motijheel School  run by The Missionaries of Charity ( Mother Teresa ), and Aryadaha Ramkrishna Shangha Balikashram (Adyapeath ). We also organize various workshops for members from all strata of society, thereby keeping the flame of social welfare and cultural upliftment alive.

Secretary Speaks

It has been 5 years now that a dream spread its wings and took flight – a dream called Srishtipath. It is our very cultural roots which has taught us to stay close to the people, to always stay together with the people. And what better way to do that than to share our love and spend time with small children who have to live in circumstances far more unfortunate than any of us ever had to ?

With limited resources, Srishtipath has tirelessly striven to be a warm companion to underprivileged children in the city. We are a small organization, but our dreams are big. Perhaps the words of the late song writer Gouriprasanna best summarizes our own feelings – “ A small home it is no doubt…but above it there is the unlimited sky. “

None of these activities and endeavours would have been possible without the general assistance of all the people and establishments who are our well-wishers. We would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to all of them. May Srishtipath carry on its work in ever more creative and meaningful ways in the future.
