Born in a family of academicians, Smt. Baishali Bagchi started her training in Kathak Dance in 1986 at an early age of 3 years, under Guru Bipasha Bandopadhyay (Jaipur Gharana) at Bani Chakra (Music and Dance Training College).

Later, since 1999, she continued her training under Guru Sumitra Mitra (Jaipur Gharana). She also received the training of "Taal"from Sree Soumitrajit Chattopadhyay (Farukabad Gharana).

Smt. Bagchi received the degrees of Sangit Praveen (Masters Degree in Kathak Dance, 2006), Sangit Prabhakar (Bachelors Degree in Kathak Dance, 2002), Senior Diploma in Kathak Dance, 1993 and Junior Diploma in Kathak Dance, 1989 from Prayag Sangit Samiti Allahabad.

She also received Certificate of Merit at Nehru Talent Search Contest arranged by Nehru Children's Museum Vidyasagar Academy. Kolkata in the year 1992 and achieved the First Position in the Kathak Dance Contest arranged by Nikhil Banga Navabarsha Utsav Samiti, Kolkata, in the year 1993.

Beginning with her first stage performance at the early age of 4 years at Ice Skating Ring, Kolkata, Smt. Bagchi has performed at Kala Mandir, Children's Little Theatre (CLT) auditorium, Madhusudan Manch, Hayat Regency, Birla Academy, International Food Festival, Nalban, Kolkata.

Smt. Bagchi has also performed in Doordarshan "DD Bangla," in 2008, under the direction of Guru Sumitra Mitra and Guru Sanjay Mukherjee.

In the year 2009, Smt. Bagchi, during her first International Tour to Europe, has performed at a concert at Copenhagen. Denmark, arranged by Indisk Musikforening, and at concerts arranged by Transcendental Meditation Centre Munich and Ulm, Germany. She also delivered lecture demonstration on Kathak Dance atCopenhagen, at a workshop on Kathak, arranged by Indisk Musikforening.

Presently, Smt. Bagchi is in charge of Dance Department at the Cultural Troupe "Dakhiner Batayan" (Govt. Registration No.- S/1L/44575) and has been directing and performing stage performances for different shows of the troupe since 2006.

Ujjain ...

In the year 2011 Baishali motivated a group of dancer belonging to the same Kathak Dance class to go beyond classroom and explore various aspect of Indian classic dance.
After the initial struggle Ujjain is now a compatible group, with members performing different art forms like acting, singing, lyrics, music composition etc. The Group majorly experimenting theatrical dance, dance drama and Broadway form of theatre.

Parikraman: -

Ujjain's experiment with the journey of Indian Dance over time from pure Classical Dance to the modern Creative Dance styles we see today. The production was first staged at Kalakunj in October 2011. Later on the production was also staged at ISI auditorium, (BIITM auditorium and Gyan Manch.

Krishna Katha:-
A semi classical Dance Drama, that explores the life of Lord Krishna, emphasizing on the major events, till "Bhagvat Geeta." Throughout the drama, the actors as well as the spectators go through a single dilemma. Who was Lord Krishna? Was he a God? Or a Human? Did he actually have special powers? Or are those meager Legends? Staged at Gyan Manch in June 2013.

Dyakha Hobe:-
A Theatrical Ballet, dealing with 2 strangers, who meet and become friends. The Ballet ends leaving the spectators with one single question in mind: "Did they fall in Love? First staged in February 2014, at Gyan Manch, then in April 2014, at Jogesh Mime Academy.
