Introduction
Sens' House at Somra Bazar, Dist. Hooghly is the ancestral home of an ancient family with a glorious past. The house is almost 300 years old.

So long the family was confined in celebrating Durga Puja and Kali Puja, both annual functions. Members of the family form all over the globe used to assemble and celebrate the occasions with pomp and grandeur.

In October2004, when all the members had assembled to celebrate Durga Puja like all previous years, It was unanimously decided that we shall pool in funds and work unitedly towards social upliftment of the poor and needy villagers of Somra Bazar. Accordingly Shree Shree Lakshminarayan Maa Durga Religious and Charitable Trust were formed and objectives of the trust laid down. It was an important year in the history of our family.

We remain thankful not only to our members but also to all those people who have donated generously for a great cause.
