Alakendu himself is a self made talent in the arena of Bengal Art & Literature. From the year 1965 Alakendu engaged himself in painting and creative writings. On the way of his journey he had got immense inspiration and affection  from eminent personalities of Bengali Art & Culture & Science  like Ramkinkar Beiz, Rittwik Kumar Ghatak, Annada Shankar Roy, Annada Munshi, Scientist Satyendranath Basu, Poet Bishnu De etc. and gradually Alakendu expressed his visions and thinking in the form of poems, paintings, short stories, features, novels etc. He is also Editor of a Bengali little Magazine “Smaranakshar”.  Alakendu is a master illustrator and also had illustrated so many book covers even magazine covers.
