On 23rd of August 2010, the birth anniversary of the famous Music Director Sri Mrinal Bandopadhyay, Debatrayee's new music album 'ATITHI' got released, under the direction of Sri Mrinal Bandopadhyay.
 'ATITHI' is a collection of 8 songs, sung by Debatrayee and composed and written by Sri Mrinal Bandopadhyay. This album contains songs of different flavour. Where there are romantic songs like "chokh theke shore jaoa", "tumi nei ghore ei", "ami aj ekla"; song like " Amar shob kichutei tumi mago" is sure to touch the heart of all mothers. Similarly, the song "Krishna kanhai" is in folk style and has been sung in a diffent fashion. Songs like "rakhi bondhone", "kichui toh thake na", "ekhane okhane" portray different emotions and adds on to the variety of the album.
'ATITHI' got released at the Big Boss Hotel and at the Oxford Bookstore. Many eminent personalities from the field of music and culture graced the occasion. The reviews and several writings that came up in different newspapers like Bartaman, Anandabajaar, Pratidin, Ekdin, Statesman, Telegraph etc. were also quite overwhelming.
The album is also special as the entire sale proceed of the album has been alloted for different NGOs & orphanages in the aid of economically backward children. A lot of money has been and continues to aid the economically backward children as the sale continues. |
