About Mr. Dasgupta:

Born to late Jyotish Chandra Dasgupta a renowned artist in the pre-independence period, Mr. Gautam Dasgupta was a second generation artist. He was also fascinated by Music and Literature.
Nature always enthralled him. The light, the breeze and the mystical area of nature seems to dwell in his heart which reciprocates into poetic expression. His world of art encompasses from the mountains to the sea, the blue hues of the sky, and the greens of the forest the birds gliding through space. His mind’s eye creates images which are seen in his art. All feelings synergize and contribute to the work of art. Impressionism has greatly influenced his life. He has been inspired so much by impressionism from Van Gogh to Gopal Ghosh, from Abanindra Nath to Binod Behari, Ganesh Pyne, Shyamal Dutta Ray but he has been immensly influenced most by the great artist Sri Dhirendranath Brahma in the role of Friend, Philosopher & Guide.
