About Me:

Dulal Lahiri is an eminent personality in the field of Bengali Cinema or Tollywood. He was born in 27th of January 1948. He passed his school from Scottish church collegiate school in 1965. He graduated in commerce and also studied chartered accountancy till intermediate. After that he introduced himself in the field of acting. Besides acting Dulal Lahiri is an excellent percussionist. According to his words Tabla has also contributed him to learn the steps and bits of acting. His mentor in his world of tabla is Pt.Nanku Maharaj. Though not a trainee in singing he has ample conceptions about singing. His favorite music includes Rabindrasangeet and famous songs of Hemanta Mukherjee, Sachin Dev Burman, Manna Dey and other eminent personalities.
 
Acting:
He introduced himself in acting primarily on the stage to theater. He considers himself a devotee of the theatrical stage. He started his carrier in the field of acting under the direction of eminent personalities  Mr. Manoj Mitra and Mr Soumitra Chatterjee . He has performed in a number of theaters under them, before he got into acting in front of the camera. Quoting his words, “Theater is the only place which has taught me the real acing skill. It is the only place where a performer can express his or her maximum creativity and innovation. Every actors must perform on stage at least once to learn good acting.”
In spite of his busy schedule in the Tollywood, he engages himself in Bengali literatures and theater.
His famous theater includes Mesh –o-Rakhkhosh ( directed by Monoj Mitra )
