The traditional North Indian classical music is simply extraordinary and uplifting, dating back t housands of years. Rhythm is an integral part of Indian classical music and it can even be realized through our heartbeat – the fundamental sign of our life. On the other extremity of maturity, rhythm and music therapy can provide miracle response to clinically depressed and suffering individuals. Myself being an ardent lover of rhythm, really love this success and evolution.
Now a day the classical music lovers are interested to listen the different types of rhythm from the performing percussionist. We the musicians, drummers, Tabla players and percussionists are constantly trying to create more and more varieties, style and color in our creations to entertain and satisfy our music lover audiences. I feel it is important being deeply rooted to your Gharana, but still do enjoy playing compositions from other Gharanas. I believe this blend creates a richer experience to the connoisseurs and even to general music lovers.
My suggestion to students and learners – do practice, learn properly from your guru and follow the style, clarity and production. I believe we can keep pace with today’s technological progress, without compromising on the proper training and practice.
Love people, love music; with god’s blessing you can feel the eternal peace and self satisfaction through your music.
