NATARAJ Group was formed in the year 1991 under the guidance and encouragement of Smt. Arati Roy. From the very beginning, its endeavor was to present quality production. All production of the Group derives motivation from the Indian classical, creative, and Tagorean dance mode. Blending tradition with modernity is the Group's thriving aspiration. Its mission has always been to attract youth to Indian tradition and heritage. The group designs its production to achieve this purpose.

All their productions are based on various subjects ranging from classical, folklore to Tagorean ballads.

The productions of NATARAJ GROUP which have already achieved huge success in India and abroad are "Bichitro" a presentation based on folk dances of India,  "Basabdatta" a Tagorean dance drama based on the poet's famous poem ''Abhisaar". To celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Indian independence, the Group launched the production "Subarna Bharati". As a tribute to the famous dancer heroines of the Indian cinema, the Group devised the dance presentation "Sradhanjali". In this production the dance styles of Madhubala to Rekha are displayed with aplomb. All the songs chosen for this production are famous Hindi film songs sung by the legendary Lata Mangeskar, thus this presentation is also dedicated to her. "Sradhanjali(2)" is a similar production designed to honour the famous heroines of Bengali cinema which included popular film songs staring the celebrated Kanan Debi to Mohua Roy Choudhury. Another production based on Bengali folk songs is "Swapner Sandhane”. “Hits of Debadree” displays dances based on very popular Bengali hit film songs of icon star of Indian cinema Debasree Roy. The ancient "Natyashastra" is the inspiration for the classical production "Navraas, (The Natyashastra revisited)".

The soul and motivator of the NATARAJ GROUP is the celebrated President's Award winning, danseuse actress Debasree Roy who is also their shining star in every production.
