MY DAY starts early because I have to run my industrial and corporate security business besides acting. But since I'm a workaholic, I don't feel lethargic when I'm doing work that I enjoy There has been one instance when I have had a 36-hour non-stop shooting schedule.
In between scenes, when the light and set changes are on, I find time to catch up on some Pranayam. A weekly massage also keeps me charged up.
I'm a homebody and spending time with the family provides great relief. But it is also true that I'm at ease even when alone. I spend a lot of time reading and listening to both eastern and Western classical music. I have a vast collection of symphonies and rare tribal music and I feel the best way to enjoy such music is to lock oneself in a room and put a dim light on.
I got addicted to socialism and Swami Vivekananda early in life, and Vivekananda's book Kar-mayog has helped me greatly in finding my way in life.
An annual big break is a must for me, and I supplement that with two or three smaller breaks when I head for places that are completely isolated. I love spending time in villages, especially around Bolpur, and try to keep away from newspapers, television and keep my cell phone on voice mail.
I thrive on fruits and boiled vegetables and have cut down on smoking, but I consider myself a connois-seur of drinks and my well-stocked bar is the envy of many. Though I'm only an occasional drinker, I love to nurse my drink in the company of select friends, who mean a lot to me. Ultimately, however, it is only my inner strength that comes from meditation and yoga that pulls me through each day.
