It's all about a day in a woman's life. Teen Sotyi, a tele-film by Shayamal Sengupta is a part of the Ekushe Nari series, which will be aired on Etv soon. An experimental tele-film made in a non-traditional, non-narrative way, the film begins and ends with the common incidents in the life of Subarna and Abhijit. Calling the shots at Naktala's Nataraj studio, Sengupta informed that the film is unique in its form and that each shot is a series of a woman's reaction towards a lot of instances taking place since morning. Talking about the chain of reactions that goes on in a woman's mind, Arindam Sil, who is playing the character of Abhijit in the film said, "The story begins and ends on the same day. I am playing the husband who feels that his wife's reactions towards the same thing changes with the day."
The film has three different parts, each part telling a different version of the events in the life of Subarna, played by Sreelekha Mitra, a middle-class working woman. It shows her identity which changes under different circumstances and gets influenced by her relationships. At home she is a wife having a stable relation with her husband, a mother to her five-year-old child and a daughter-in-law, who has the usual differences with her mother-in-law. Scene III shows her tensions with her boss, played by Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, who flirts with her outrageously and is always looking for an opportunity to go beyond the office decorum.
"One day stories have been made earlier, but discovering a woman only through her reactions is really unique,"said Sil.
