Tie up with social service organisations for Cataract Detection
Camps followed by Free IOL Microsurgery.
(2) Volunteers orientation
training at the Foundation for detection of Cataract afflicted
patients.
(3) Cataract Detection
Camp conducted by the medical team of the Foundation for selection
of patients.
(4) Pre-operative investigation
of patients at the Foundation premises.
(5) Free IOL Microsurgery
of patients certified fit for surgery by cardiologists at
the Foundation. |

(1)
First Post-op checkup day after the operation.
(2) Second post-op checkup 7/10
days after operation.
(3) Suture removal three month
after operation.
(4) Final refraction one month

RATIONALE FOR FREE
IOL MICROSURGERY |
In India, millions of people
turn blind every year , the majority of them being from the rural
areas. Approximately 80% of the cases of blindness are caused by a
lack of awareness about the dangers of not treating, an overmature
cataract on time. |
REACHING OUT TO
THE RURAL POOR AND THE NEEDY |
To create awareness regarding
blindness due to cataract related complication our Foundation has
been engaged since 1998, in an on going Community Ophthalmology Programme
which involves reaching out to the rural poor and the needy with Cataract
Detection Camps followed by FREE IOL M1CROSURGERIES at the Foundation's
modern premises |
