MDS is an Accredited Institute (AI) of National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) formerly known as national Open School (NOS) has been set up in 1989 by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development to provide education for all with special concern for girls and women, rural youth, working men and women, SC/ST, handicapped and other disadvantaged groups. MDS provides all facilities to the students of NIOS beyond its regular school hours. MDS is accredited to NIOS to run courses of 10th and(10 + 2)std.in both English and Hindi Medium.
 
2007 ONWARDS A VISION TO THE FUTURE
 
1. MDS affirms to work for spread of quality education in the society. To harness human resources has remained a big challenge in our country vis a vis in our state of West Bengal. The school has always maintained an affordable fee structure for students belonging to middle and lower middle classes of the society. The School desires and pledges to extend academic facilities to the under privileged sections of the society in coming years through philanthropic way.

2. Quality Life is the essence of Quality Education, the Occidental Knowledge is to be blended with the Oriental Wisdom. The teachings of ancient India is a handy to the modern man in his journey of life. Quality Learning class in school is aimed towards the same.

3. The School aims at providing a high class of infrastructure for teaching learning. Like continuous upgradation of Library, Laboratories, Computer department, internet facilities, audio-visual system of teaching, communication in English, beautification of campus and making people environment friendly and conscious, talent hunting, creativity in art, music, composition and vocabulary, are the focus of development.

4. Formation of the Alumni Association of the School is a vital step to maintain a continuity of past and present.

5. More interactive methods for students like excursion, seminars, participating in various co-curricular and extra curricular activities, strengthening sports division including gearing up of school band and etc are to be taken up.

6. School Magazine "Cruizer" to be published regularly.
