What is a Laparoscope ?
Laparoscope is a small telescope which is passed into the belly (lower abdomen) through a small (about half inch) cut / incision through or just below the naval (umbilicus). The cut usually cannot be seen later on.

What anaesthesia is used for Lap surgery ?
Lapsurgery is done under general or full anesthesia. So, it is not painful.

If asked for, special arrangements can be made to record the operation.

Can all operations be done by Lapsurgery ?
No, it is not possible to do Lap surgery in all gynecological cases. Prior case selection is very important. In a small percentage of cases, the Gynecologist may have to stop Lap surgery in the middle and complete the operation by opening the belly (open surgery). But this is very rare.
