M. C. Sarkar & Sons was founded in the year 1910. The company was formed as to publish law books. After a few years the company started printing books in Bengali. In 1920 the company started bringing out Bengali Children's Magazine, "Mouchak" which is still being published. M.C. Sarkar & Sons Private Ltd. were the publishers of the complete works of Sarat Chandra Chatterjee, Rajsekhar Bose, Sir J. N. Sarkar. The company has been publishing “Hindustan Year Book” since 1932. In the later years the company produced books of most of the eminent authors of Bengal. The books of the company were been appreciated by people all over the world.
 
The company has been producing books on Bengali for the past hundred years.
