DR. DIPAK CHANDRA
(MYTHO-NOVELIST)
|
| PROFILE |
Dr.
Dipak Chandra writes novels on the episodes of the Ramayan,
the Mahabharat with the sympathetic view of an artist who
has imparted vivacious form to them to indite life-oriented
novels. He has not only changed the old idea; but also tended
to mass conciousness exploring the deep set mysteries of the
mind. Consequently he has combined in his works ancient outlook
with the modern tendency. His manner of considering Politics,
Economics and Society stands no comparision. He has not made
any effort to create spiritual atmosphere in his novels. Reality
has taken place through humanity. Recent researchers in mythology
and ancient history have questioned many of our conventional
assumptions about the epics and the scriptures. He is aware
of this trend and equipped with a modern sensibility and secular
outlook has attempted to give a new twist to the epic narratives.
They are merely tales from the epic in a modern idiom, but
a drastic departure in his mode of treatment and assessment.
So his creation posses such a curious attraction that it takes
hold of the reader's attention upto the last page. The reader
hardly forgets the impressive subject matter and the realisation
of a newly illuminated truth.
