In the year 1978 founded "SAMIKSHAN" and acted - directed the dramas "Swadeshi Naksha" , "Kanamachhi Khela", "Totaram" ,"Lovendra-Gabendra", "Guha Chitra", " Mrichhakatika", "Antaral", "Swapna Ujaan", "Kaler Jatra", "Manmoyee Girls School" , "Punarjanma", "Anya Bhuban" , " Ekei Ki Bale Sabhyata ?".

Pankaj Munshi started his theatrical activities from "SATABDI" - a group founnded by eminent Dramatist , Producer & Direct Shri Badal Sircar on and from 1967 to 1973 . Acted in the leading roll in leading roll in "Kabi Kahini", "Ballavpurer Rupkatha", "Shesh Nei", "Sangina Mahato",
"Abu Hossain" and "Ebong Indrojit","Spartaeus", "Muktamela" (in the third theatre form named "Satabdi Angon Mancha").

Joined "NANDIKAR" in the year of 1973 and took part in the "Sahi Sangbad" (directed by Ajitesh Bandyopadhya).

In the year 1974 founded "Theatre Lover's Group" and acted -directed the dramas "Jadudanda",
"Shiber Asadhyi" , " Wrinshodh" and "Abu Hossain".

Took part in the leading role of the drama "Pakhir Chokh" in Doordarshan Kendra Calcutta-produced and directed by Tripti Mitra in the year of 1976. Also had opportunity to take part in the Doordarshan productions "Dinning Table" , "Thakurda", "Monushya Kush Nilarani Samity ", "Kashibashini" etc.

The Dramas produced by "SAMIKHAN" - "Swadeshi Naksha", "Abu Hossain","Totaram", "Lovendra-Gabendra", had been telecasted by the Calcutta Doordarshan for several times. Acted in some T.V. serials and films.

In the year 1988 took part in the production of W.B.Natya Academi's "Chaitali Rater Swapna" under direction of Utpal Dutta.

Winner of the following awards as best Director and Actor. ABHINOY PURASKAR - 1975,1976,1989, DISHARI (Drama Journalist Assoc.) - 1989, WRITWIK GHATAK SMRITI PURASKAR -1987, CINE CULTURE AWARD - 1987, BEST DIRECTOR , Govt. of W.B. - 1976 for TOTARAM AND JYOTSNAMAKHA DAS SMIRITI PURASKAR - 2004 and SHILPA BHARATI AWARD -2000.
