In 1961,Prof. Rupesh Chakraborty migrated to India and worked in a bank Indequip Ltd. Ahmedabad Gujarat as a secretary of Sri Anil Bhai Parekh. In 1968 he joined Central glass Ceramic Research Institute (under science and technology dept. Govt of India) and retired as a private secretary on 2002 July. Since 1978 Prof. Chakraborty was engrossed in the astrology subject. the Govt. of India permitted him to get actively involved in different capacities like astrological institutes.

He has been awarded title of Jyotish Sam rat during 1980 from Paravidya Mahavidyalaya, Delhi by the then president of India-Gyani Jail Singh.

He has received the prestigious Pramethes Chandra barna award, Search light Award and many other countered awards as of now.

During 2002 he was awarded the DEAN of Astrology by the Krishnamurthy Institute of Astrology, Kolkata.
