A Brief History

Mr. Nirupam Das, a graduate in Textile Technology from Calcutta University, with a zeal of entrepreneurship, started in the year 1992, a company named Technocraft, engaged in the marketing of machineries and spares manufactured by a number of European companies, to Textile Mills both in India as well as in Bangladesh. As the company grew in stature within a couple of years, Mr. Das felt the urge of expanding the activities beyond the field of Textiles. Realizing the enormous business potential lying with the Indian Railways, a separate company named M/S. ORION TECHOCRAFT PVT. LTD. (OTPL) was launched in the year ,1995.

Current Activity

At present OTPL is engaged in marketing of electrical equipments and control panels required for Locomotives, Traction Motors, Track Circuits, and Signaling Systems and also mechanical spares to all sections of Indian Railways throughout me country. We represent reputed European and Indian Principals such as M/s. WPS Procurement Services, Switzerland, M/s Plastic Products Engineering Company, Ahmedabad, M/s Suntron Systems, Bhopal, and M/s Kumaran Industries, Bhopal etc.
From a meager start hi 1995, the company has now flourished ever since with a current turn over crossing Rupees 8 crores per year. The company has its corporate office in Kolkata, West Bengal and its branch office in Bhopal, M.P.

Future Propositions

As we have developed a considerable marketing activities with R.D.S.O., the nodal agency for approval of new products for the Indian Railways, we are looking forward for Principals/ Joint Venture Partners for launching new products suitable for the Railways on mutually agreeable terms.
