Incisional hernia is a condition where contents of abdomen
come out in a sac under the skin through a weak spot after
a previous surgical operation. Repair of incisional hernia
has come under the domain of Plastic Surgery because it requires
very meticulous repair as recurrence after repair is very
common. In moderate to large hernias the repair is strengthened
by introducing a Prolene Mesh as an extra support.
